V.P Yemi Osinbajo Reportedly Postpones Meeting With Northern Traditional Rulers - 4 years ago
Yemi Osinbajo has reportedly postponed his meeting with traditional rulers from the north earlier scheduled for 4:00pm on Monday. The meeting will now hold at 3:00pm on Tuesday. The meeting is in continuation of consultation Osinbajo began with stakeholders last week over the agitation for Biafra and the Kaduna Declaration. The acting president had on Sunday met with traditional rulers from the southeast, having earlier met separately with leaders of thought from the north and the east last Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. The Presidency didn’t give reasons the meeting was postponed. Osinbajo’s media aide, Laolu Akande, tweeted, “Tonight, the acting president would be holding iftar dinner with northern traditional rulers band tomorrow continue ongoing consultations with them. “Both Muslim and Christian traditional rulers from the north would be participating in consultations tomorrow afternoon with the acting president. “ Daily Trust reports that before the meeting was postponed, many of the invited guests, including some of the emirs, had been seated at venue, the Old Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. Among those who had been seated for the meeting were House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Deputy Senate Leader Bala Ibn Na’alla, Interior Minister Abdulrahman Danbazzau, Science and Technology Minister Ogbonnaya Onu; Ona of Abaji Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa who is also the chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Traditional Rulers Council, Sakaruyi of Karu Dr Emmanuel Kyauta Yekwi.
