2 Nigerian Men Rob Portuguese Man, Strip Unclad And Filmed - 4 years ago
Two Nigerians attacked a Portuguese man and forced him to take off his clothes to film him so as to threaten and blackmail him, a Dubai court has heard. The two defendants – both unemployed and aged 31 and 33 – brought the victim to their hotel room after “luring him with the photo of a beautiful woman online”. They threatened to beat the victim up unless he took off his clothes and then filmed him against his will. They then snatched his wallet and stole Dh2,500 from it. They also took his bank cards and used them to make purchases worth Dh7,000. The defendants pleaded not guilty in the Court of First Instance to the charges of forcible theft, sexual assault, unlawful use of others’ bank cards and assault on one’s privacy with the use of technology. The case dates back to February 18. “An incident of assault and theft by force was reported at a hotel room. The complainant told us that when he arrived to the UAE he met a woman online and agreed to meet her at a hotel in Oud Metha. However, when he reached there he found the door open and once in, a woman closed the door and two men attacked him,” a police corporal said. The complainant told the police that the defendants threatened to post his photos online if he did not hand over his wallet to them. One of the defendants went out and withdrew money from his account and came back. They told him to go inside the bathroom and wait. When he heard they were gone he went out and called the police. The pair admitted to the investigators that they had booked the hotel room.
