Bruno Fernandes’ Manchester United debut ended in a goalless Premier League draw against Wolves at Old Trafford.
The Portugal midfielder, signed from Sporting Lisbon for £47m on Thursday, had a steady game, showing his potential by testing Wolves goalkeeper and compatriot Rui Patricio on numerous occasions.

Fernandes should have done better when he laced a first-time shot at Patricio in the first half, while at the other end Adama Traore flashed a shot narrowly wide.

Fernandes’ free-kick towards the top corner was comfortable for Patricio, who almost spilled another long-range effort into his own net.

Wolves’ best chance fell to Mexico striker Raul Jimenez, whose shot from the angle was tipped over by David de Gea.
