Oshiomhole says he regrets making Obaseki governor
The former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, said he regrets making Godwin Obaseki succeed him as the governor of Edo state.
Oshiomhole who is the immediate past governor of Edo state made the statement on Sunday, July 19, at his residence in the state, Vanguard reported.
The politician said he made a grave mistake by bringing Godwin Obaseki as his successor in 2016, but stated that the bad heads in the APC are gone following the defection of the governor and deputy to the PDP.
Oshiomhole told a crowd of party supporters that he was in the state to ensure the victory of the APC in the Edo governorship election.
“I have come home for only one project, I am not going back to Abuja until the project is completed,” he said.
Oshiomhole urged party members to commit themselves to ensure that the APC’s governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu wins the election.
